The Center’s research workshops, fellowships, and public events strengthen the intellectual and creative life of the University, foster innovative scholarship and teaching, and enrich the community's understanding of our common humanity.
The Stanford Humanities Center was founded in 1980 and is an integral part of Stanford’s internationally renowned research community. It brings together scholars from across disciplinary boundaries to create a research hub alive with intellectual interaction, cross-campus collaborations, and public participation.
The Humanities Center enriches the life of the community by sponsoring public presentations and discussions of new research, interdisciplinary thinking, and fundamental issues in the humanities. more »
The Humanities Center sponsors year-long collaborative research workshops that bring faculty and graduate students together regularly to work on major topics of cross-disciplinary interest. It also promotes collaborative humanities research online through the Humanities Research Network. more »
