Merce Cunningham in Conversation

with John Rockwell

Lengendary choreographer Merce Cunningham and John Rockwell, chief dance critic for the New York Times, converse about Cunningham's lifework and the history of his pioneering dance company.  The event features a unique video compilation created specifically for the Presidential and Endowed Lecture Series, including rarely seen images from Cunningham's life and art.

These two events are part of ENCOUNTER MERCE: An Interdisciplinary Exploration Through the Arts.  This campuswide endeavor celebrates Cunningham's life and art with a variety of classes, seminars, events, and performances. The exciting two-quarter project culminates in a residency and performances by the Merce Cunningham Dance Company the week of March 7, 2005.
