Another Look Book Club - The Fire Next Time

Join us for the "Another Look" book club discussion of James Baldwin's searing, compassionate look at the consequences of racial injustice, The Fire Next Time.
Michele Elam will moderate the event, with Harry Elam and award-winning author Tobias Wolff.  Michele Elam is professor of English and editor for the new Cambridge Companion to James Baldwin. Harry Elam is Stanford's vice-provost for undergraduate education and a Bay Area theater director. Wolff is a Stanford professor of English. “Another Look” is a seasonal book club that draws together the writers and scholars from Stanford’s top-ranked English department with leading figures from the Bay Area. The books selected will be Stanford’s picks for short masterpieces you may not have read before.
The event is free. Seats are available on a first-come basis.
