Susan Sontag: "Cruelty and Apathy"

Susan Sontag is a well-known and admired American writer, director, and human rights activist. The author of 15 books and director of four feature-length films, Sontag has been a leading human rights activist for more than two decades. During the past three years, she has made frequent trips to Sarajevo, and in 1993 she directed a production of Beckett's "Waiting for Godot" in that besieged capital.
