Marshall Sahlins is Charles F. Grey Distinguished Service Professor of Anthropology at the University of Chigago. Sahlins is a renowned scholar, as widely known for his theoretical work on the relations between history and structure as for his Polynesian and especially Hawaiian ethno-history.
