Stephen Murphy-Shigematsu: A Journey of Mastery and Mystery

We are pleased to announce that we will hear a presentation from Stephen Murphy-Shigematsu, Consulting Professor in the School of Medicine and Lecturer in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity, Anthropology, and Human Biology. He will present “A Journey of Mastery and Mystery,” about the dilemmas he encounters in his personal developmental journey balancing science and art, receiving and telling stories in professional capacities as psychotherapist, researcher, teacher, writer, and storyteller. His work integrating transnational human development, cultural awareness, and health humanities explores the personal as political and the use of self in the co-creation of synergistic forms of knowledge.
