A Company of Authors

Join us for the ninth annual A Company of Authors
event. As always, your day will include an exciting
group of Stanford authors demonstrating the richness of
the intellectual life that goes on in our community. The
authors who will be talking about their books include
Richard White (Railroaded), Philip Taubman (The
Partnership: Five Cold Warriors and Their Quest to Ban
the Bomb), Joel Brinkley (Cambodia’s Curse), Denise
Gigante (The Keats Brothers), Justin Torres (We the
Animals), Edith Sheffer (Burned Bridge: How East
and West Germans Made the Iron Curtain), Willard
Wyman (Blue Heaven), Laura Stokes (Demons of
Urban Reform: Early European Witch Trials), Steven
Weitzman (Solomon: The Lure of Wisdom), Peter
Stansky (Julian Bell: From Bloomsbury to the Spanish
Civil War), Francis Tapon (The Hidden Europe),
Prudence Breitrose (Mousenet), Marian Adams (Historic
Houses), Marjorie Perloff (Unoriginal Genius), James
Adams (Good Products, Bad Products), Andres Rees
Davies (Saving San Francisco), Michael Saler (As If:
Modern Enchantment and the Literary Prehistory of
Virtual Reality), Arie Dubnov (Isaiah Berlin: The
Journey of a Jewish Liberal), and Thomas Mullaney
(Coming to Terms with the Nation).

This program is hosted by Peter Stansky, Field
Professor of History, Emeritus, Stanford. Drop in, or
indulge yourself by spending the entire afternoon in the
company of these bright, entertaining, and stimulating
writers. At the event, the Stanford Bookstore will sell
books at a 10 percent discount, and authors will sign
copies. Refreshments will be served.
