A vigorous conversation with Professors Mattei and Capra about their new book, The Ecology of Law: Toward a Legal System in Tune with Nature and Community, which argues that “at the root of many of the environmental, economic, and social crises we face today is a legal system based on an obsolete world-view… [And] how, by incorporating concepts from modern science, the law can become an integral part of bringing about a better world, rather than facilitating its destruction."

Professor Ugo Mattei is a theoretician, leader and activist of the Commons Movement in Italy.  Widely published author, including Plunder: When the Rule of Law is Illegal and  Beni Comuni: un Mamnifesto.

Dr. Fritjof Capra is a Physicist and Director of Center for Ecoliteracy, Berkeley; author of many books, including The Tao of Physics and The Systems View of Life
