David Hochschild, Commissioner, California Energy Commission
Talk Abstract:
David Hochschild is a commissioner at the California Energy Commission, the state's primary energy policy and planning agency, where he is the lead for renewable energy. His talk will focus on the coming transformation of the world's energy system from one based on fossil fuels to one powered by clean energy with a much larger role for the electric grid as most sectors of the economy transition to electricity. California nows plays a critical role as the driving force for clean energy policy and the incubator for next generation of clean technologies that will power the future. How much progress can California expect on clean energy under a Trump presidency? And how quickly can the transition to clean energy happen? What further barrier-busting remains? And what does transitioning to a clean energy economy mean for our society? Commisioner Hochschiild will explore these questions and provide an overview of our clean energy progress to date.
