With music by Hanns Eisler and lyrics by Bertolt Brecht (translations by Eric Bentley), this radio-play with music in one act was adapted from transcripts of hearings of the House Un-American Activities Committee, April, 1947. The transcripts were adapted and music arranged by Jonathan Berger.

The student artists in The Interrogation are all participants in ITALIC (Immersion in the Arts: Living in Culture), a residentially based yearlong academic program for freshmen that uses art as the frame for discussing big ideas.
