Faculty Perspectives: Professor Caroline Winterer

This is an Archive of a Past Event

Professor Caroline Winterer will share her thoughts about her journey through graduate school, the postdoctoral years, the job hunt, and the early years of being an assistant professor, including an honest discussion of mistakes, misconceptions, and things she still finds confusing and peculiar about academic life. A historian of early America, Caroline Winterer is the Anthony P. Meier Family Professor in the Humanities and Director of the Stanford Humanities Center. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and has been a faculty member at Stanford since 2004. Please note: this event is primarily for Stanford's PhD population: graduate students, particularly those nearing completion, and postdocs.
