Professor Heather Wipfli (University of Southern California) will speak about her new book The Global War on Tobacco: Mapping the World’s First Public Health Treaty. She will discuss how anti-tobacco advocates worked together to enact the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, which regulates the production, sale, distribution, advertisement, and taxation of tobacco. Her talk will be followed by a brief conversation with Professor Michelle Mello of Stanford Law School and Stanford School of Medicine.
