Intersections: Douglas Crimp in Conversation with Richard Meyer

Douglas Crimp, Fanny Knapp Allen Professor of Art History at the University or Rochester, is one of the leading art critics and queer theorists of our times.  His eagerly awaited memoir, Before Pictures, charts Crimp's life as a young gay man and art critic in New York City during the late 1960s and 70s, before he curated the famous Pictures show at Artists Space in 1977. On the occasion of the book’s publication by Dancing Foxes Press and the University of Chicago Press, Crimp will read from the book, and he and Richard Meyer, Robert and Ruth Halperin Professor in Art History at Stanford, will engage in a public conversation about post-war art, gay culture, and first-person experience and memoir writing.
