Latin Evensong

This is an Archive of a Past Event

This meditative service of music, readings and prayers derives from the Latin Book of Common Prayer (1560) authorized by Elizabeth I for use in schools and universities. Attendance at this service permits one to experience a once vibrant, but now almost vanished tradition and to connect in an experiential way to the cultural influences of the Book of Common Prayer and humanist neo-Latin. All are welcome, regardless of faith tradition or lack of one, to attend and to participate in whatever way is personally comfortable. Music along with texts in both Latin and English will be provided.
