Postwar Nostalgias in Angola - Stanford Humanities Center Geballe Panel Discussion

In recognition of Angola’s four decades of independence, to be celebrated on November 11th 2015, this event brings together scholars engaged with contemporary and historical Angola for a one-day intensive workshop and discussion that will pre-empt the African Studies Association’s Annual Meeting in San Diego. This event also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Stanford Center for African Studies.
As part of the Stanford Humanities Center's Geballe Workshop on African Nostalgias, a panel of scholars including Justin Pearce, Jon Schubert, and Christian Williams will discuss their current research with Vincent Barletta and James Ferguson, Stanford faculty members.
Following the panel discussion on Postwar Nostalgias in Angola there will be a book launch with reception at Green Library's Bender Room, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
