REACTIONS TO THE RECORD IV: Kenneth Hamilton - Lost Art of Preluding

This is an Archive of a Past Event

Kenneth Hamilton is a internationally-recognized authority on 19th-century performance styles, both as a scholar and performer. His lecture / recital will demonstrate and discuss the lost 19th-century art of preluding (adding improvised “joiners” between works on a program) -- a well-established Romantic practice that can be traced from historical recordings and documentary evidence. He will also perform complete works by Chopin and Liszt. This event is part of the Reactions to the Record IV symposium and is free to the public with registration.
