Vienna & Lisbon :: Startup Conferences and Artificial Intelligence Founders

European Entrepreneurship & Innovation @ Stanford Engineering (ME421)
In Session Six of 'European Entrepreneurship' we present two founders from cities that are emerging as key startup hubs in the Iberian peninsula and Central Europe. Pioneers Festival is today the leading startups conference in the CEE region, which is exporting its brand and organization to Southeastern Europe and regions east of Austria. It has moved beyond a mere conference to a key collection point for deal flow from CEE, which is now backed by its own venture fund. Unbabel, out of Lisbon, is a rare example of an AI-based startup out of Europe that is taking on the key challenge of scaling language translation services through crowdsourcing + AI. Both CEOs have a global vision for their companies and are rapidly expanding beyond their borders to the rest of Europe, USA and Asia.
