Arnold Zwicky is a Visiting Professor of Linguistics at Stanford University. He is also a Distinguished University Professor Emeritus of Linguistics at Ohio State University. Zwicky received his Ph.D. in linguistics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1965. He served as president of the Linguistic Society of America in 1992. He also held the title of Sapir Professor at the Linguistic Institute in 1999. He has been a fellow at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1992 and 1998.
Zwicky’s book project, Adventures in the Advice Trade: An examination of the Modern Advice Literature on English Grammar and Usage, views this literature both in its cultural setting and as a body of writing on language.
