Gerald L. Bruns is The William P. & Hazel B. White Professor of English at the University of Notre Dame. His current interests are in modern and contemporary poetry and poetics. On the Anarchy of Poetry and Philosophy: A Guide for the Unruly is his most recent book.
Professor Bruns will be working on a close study of the poetry and poetics of Susan Howe and Lyn Hejinian against the background of modernist aesthetics.
