Stanford Humanities Center exterior

For nearly four decades, the Stanford Humanities Center has been a hub for pioneering research in the humanities. The Humanities Center hosts annual fellows and international visitors; cutting-edge research workshops; and over 50 public events with luminary figures in various humanities disciplines. The center energizes the university with intellectual and creative vigor, fosters interdisciplinary scholarship and teaching, and enriches our understanding of our common humanity. Since its inception in 1980, the Humanities Center has grown to support close to 50 scholars annually, making it the largest institute of its kind in the country.
