The Humanities Center brings people together to create an intellectual community on campus where ideas are shared and disciplinary boundaries are crossed. The Center's fellows, visitors, and staff come together to form this community, and their commitment to humanities research fosters a vibrant atmosphere of scholarly exchange. The Center's activities outside Stanford and its numerous public events create a venue for these ideas to be shared with the wider humanities community and with the Bay Area public.
