Date and Time:
Thursday, April 30, 2015. 06:00 PM - 07:30 PM
Meeting Location:
Margaret Jacks Hall, Terrace Room
Meeting Description:

To kick off our Spring event series, The Contemporary will be hosting a book discussion of Robert Harrison's recent publication, Juvenescence: A Cultural History of Our Age (2014), a highly acclaimed and wide ranging study of youth culture and the place and perception of age in different cultures throughout history, particularly the present. Michael Krasny PhD., host of the award winning KQED Forum, will join us to moderate a discussion of Harrison's book among Adrian Daub (Stanford, German), Amir Eshel (Stanford, German), and Andrea Nightingale (Stanford, Classics). Following the discussion Dr. Harrison will offer a brief response and field questions from the audience. Light refreshments will be served prior to the event.

To learn more about Harrison's book, click here to listen to his recent interview with Michael Krasny on KQED Forum on the subject.

A limited number of subsidized copies of Juvenescence will be available at $5 each. You can request a copy in our RSVP.  With any questions, contact Rachel Kirkwood at rachkirk@stanford.edu.
