Meeting Description: 

Indie A. Choudhury is a doctoral candidate in art history at Stanford University and a 2019-2020 Dissertation Fellow at the Stanford Research Institute of the Center for Comparative Race and Ethnicity. Her dissertation project is an extended study of postwar African American and Afro-Caribbean abstract painting, focusing on its relationship to black subjectivity and the representation of pain. Prior to Stanford, she has held posts at the National Maritime Museum, Iniva, and Tate in the UK. Recent work from her project will be published in a forthcoming issue of Nka: Journal of Contemporary African Art.
