Meeting Description: 
In this workshop meeting we will discuss excerpts of Philosophy as Fiction, focusing on the complex relationship in Proust between conscious awareness and the processes that (normally) escape it, as well as on the efforts of the prose itself to generate moments of consciousness in the reader.
 
About the speaker:
Joshua Landy is the Andrew B. Hammond Professor in French Language, Literature and Civilization at Stanford University. He is also a Professor of Comparative Literature and co-director of the Literature and Philosophy Initiative at Stanford.
