Europeans and Americans from the Renaissance forward were fascinated by the classical past. The example of antiquity fueled many intellectual, political, scientific, cultural, and artistic ventures. This workshop brings together faculty and graduate students at Stanford and beyond who explore how the idea of “classical antiquity” has been understood—and in fact created—since late antiquity.
« The pursuit of intellectual discovery and contribution are always in the forefront of the research workshop presentations.
