Description

The Empires and Cultures Workshop for 2004-05 plans to examine transregional (transcolonial) political and cultural processes in which discrete regions of various empires or nation state systems communicated and informed other regions. Faculty and graduate students will volunteer readings, speakers, and topics on subjects such as movements of ideas and revolutionary theories, colonial urbanization, and displacement resulting from colonial and imperial movements.
