Description

Human welfare and the environment are inextricably linked, a fact that is easily forgotten in an age of transnational production lines and investments, heightened consumerism and technological dependence. This workshop will take up an ecological model in order to begin thinking about globalization as a system of process and exchanges that are interrelated and mutually constitutive, but that also transcend disciplinary boundaries. The goal is to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the institutions and processes shaping globalization and the links between social, cultural and environmental crises - an understanding that will be useful when imported back into disciplinary work.
