Description

Poets and linguists are, largely independently, taking a new interest in the formal structure of verbal art, and in its basis in language. The workshop will provide both a broad forum for a renewed dialogue between them, and a venue for research on specific topics at the intersection of linguistics and poetics. Departing from the usual lecture mode, it will bring together poets and linguists, as well as some musicians, in a series of encounters that combine performance with discussion of topics of common concern, while a concurrent biweekly seminar will allow students and faculty to present and discuss their current work.
