Description
This workshop approaches the question of modernity through the lens of postcolonial questions. It focuses on the following questions: How do we think about the legacies of the European Enlightenment in the non-West? How can we conceptualize varied experiences of modernity in ways that speak to what is shared and what is different around the world? Analyzing the experience of modernity in different cultures will help fashion a more complex understanding of both modernity and the legacies of colonialism.
