Peter Miller

Peter N. Miller (email, website) is professor of History, as well as Dean and Chair of Academic Programs, at Bard College. He is the author of Peiresc’s Europe: Learning and Virtue in the Seventeenth Century (Yale, 2000), Defining the Common Good: Empire, Religion and Philosophy in Eighteenth- Century Britain (Cambridge, 1994; paperback; 2004), and The Song of the Soul: Understanding ‘Poppea’ (Royal Musical Association, 1992, with Iain Fenlon).
