Tanvi is a design technologist working at the intersection of data, design, and the humanities. She is currently a Designer with Giorgia Lupi’s team at Pentagram and a Design Researcher at Emory University, where she contributes to the Atlanta Interdisciplinary AI Network. She is also the co-author of Data by Design: A History in Five Charts, forthcoming from MIT Press in 2025.
Previously, Tanvi worked as a Design Technologist at Public Policy Lab and Spotify. Her work explores alternative approaches to understanding the convergence of social experience, aesthetics, and language.
She holds an MSc in Human-Computer Interaction from New York University and a BFA in Graphic Design and Political Theory from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Based in Brooklyn, she shares her home with her two cats, Yuchi and Bubbles. Tanvi also curates the world's largest repository of frog-themed design artifacts.
