Puchur Chaikhan (პუჭურ ჩაიხან) is imprisoned now in Georgia. Many poets and writers and actors and workers and truck drivers and delivery personnel and prime ministers and presidents are also in prison now. Puchur Chaikhan has been writing poems since he was a child. People petition to grant him freedom and release him from unjustified detention. About 453,634 Georgians, Armenians, and Kurds are demanding his freedom. So, here is what he wrote us from jail. He is thinking about Theodor Adorno in Tbilisi prison a lot.
Puchur Chaikhan said
Sometime, after the holocaust
Theodor Adorno said, when he became sad, extremely sad, outrageously sad
So he said:
I don’t know how human being can write poetry after this...
Also today, he would be sad, very sad
And he would say:
How one could write poetry before this and during this..
How one could find a rhyme,
In these materiognomic times...

We were not courageous enough:
To defeat the holocaust.
