Art of Science Exhibition

This is an Archive of a Past Event

The Art of Science Exhibition celebrates the aesthetics of research and explores the interconnected nature of science and art. This year we received over 100 submissions from members of the Stanford community in over 25 different departments, ranging from Materials Science to English, Geology to Stem Cell Biology, and Psychology to Art History. An exhibition showcasing the best pieces will take place on Friday, May 23, between 4 and 6 pm, in the first floor atrium of the Packard Building, near Bytes Cafe. The competition will be judged by a distinguished panel, including an artist from the Exploratorium and a curator from the Cantor Arts Center. Cash prizes will be awarded at 5:30 pm, and light refreshments will be served.

We invite all members of the Stanford community to submit art to the competition at mrs.stanford.edu (the deadline for submissions is Friday, May 16, 2014).

This event is open to the public, and is organized by the Stanford Materials Research Society and co-sponsored by the Graduate Student Council and Stanford IEEE.
