Azure Family Concert: The Rolston String Quartet

This is an Archive of a Past Event

This Azure Family Concert features the Rolston String Quartet and host pianist Stephen Prutsman

Since many with autism (or related challenges) cannot attend traditional music performances due to uncontrollable vocalizations or physical movements, the St. Lawrence String Quartet and long-time collaborator pianist Stephen Prutsman felt a real need to create a musical environment where such behaviors are not frowned upon, but rather, accepted and embraced.

Azure concerts are approximately one hour in length. Children, parents, and caregivers of all ages are welcome to attend.

The Rolston String Quartet was formed in the summer of 2013, at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity’s Chamber Music Residency. The ensemble takes its name from Canadian violinist Thomas Rolston, founder and longtime director of the Music and Sound Programs at the Banff Centre.
