Carl Schorske is Dayton-Stockton Professor of History Emeritus at Princeton University. He was the keynote speaker for a Stanford Centennial Conference on "Psychoanalysis and Culture: The Contributions of Sigmund Freud." He gave two public lectures and a seminar on "Mahler and Ives: Populism and Musical Innovation." The lectures were "Iglau and Danbury: The Formative Years" and "Vienna and New York: Creating a Theatrum Mundi." The subject of discussion was "The Paths Diverge: Psychological Insight and Social Vision."
