Cosmas Magaya: Mbira Lecture / Demonstration

Renowned Zimbabwean mbira master Cosmas Magaya will present a lecture-demonstration on mbira music as it relates to Zimbabwean culture and religion. He will also discuss the structure of traditional mbira music, his own experiences in learning and performing the music at ceremonies, and the construction of the instrument. All these facets will be liberally illustrated with examples performed by Mr. Magaya. | Light lunch at noon.
