A screening of the Japnese performance Mizu No Eki as part of the TAPS film series "Live on Screen." Post-screening conversation led by TAPS Ph.D. candidate Jessica Nakamura.

The Water Station (Mizu No Eki) is one of a series of plays by influential Japanese playwright Shogo Ohta which explores his concept of slow movement and silence to explore human relationship with the elements and each other.

Through extremely slow movement and only the actor’s expressions, the play depicts the dramatic stories of several individuals as they interact with a public water spigot in a post-war time and unidentified place.

"Live on Screen" presents films featuring prominent performance art, dance, and theater work. Screenings will be followed with discussions led by Stanford-affiliated experts.
