Ian Morris: "From early Athens to the history of everything."

This is an Archive of a Past Event

After fifteen years of work on the social, economic, and cultural history of archaic Greece, Ian Morris has widened his perspective to take in the whole planet since the end of the last ice age, with occasional detours back 3.8 billion years to the origins of life. In this talk he describes this shift in his research and his thoughts on how Classics might continue to transform itself in the next few decades. He will be presenting his recent research at noon on December 2nd at the Department of Classics.
