This is an Archive of a Past Event

MAY 28-30 at 8PM | MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM

Evita
A Rock Opera by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber

ABOUT THE SHOW

In this rare event, Stanford TAPS presents this epic production on the Memorial Auditorium main stage!

Recipient of the 1979 Tony Award for Best Musical, EVITA tells the passionate and moving true story of Argentine First Lady Eva Perón and her rapid ascent from poverty to fame and power. This re-imagined production of the rock operatic musical draws on historical photography, cinematography, and previously untold stories of Eva Perón.

PRE-SHOW EXHIBIT

In the first partnership of its kind, Stanford TAPS joins the Hoover Institution Archives in presenting a pre-show exhibit featuring items from Perónist Argentina, including several belonging to Juan and Eva Perón themselves. This exhibit, on display in Memorial Auditorium's main lobby, centers around Hoover's newly acquired, world-class Perón collection, and includes video documentation of Perónist Argentina as well as interviews with Argentines today.
