SGS Summer Film Festival: I am Taraneh, 15

Fifteen-year-old Taraneh, whose widowed father is in jail, works and attends school to make a better life for herself. She is pursued by Amir, a successul carpet salesman. She refuses him until his mother persuades Taraneh to accept his marriage proposal. The couple soon realize that they are incompatible, they divorce and Amir emigrates back to Germany. After the divorce, Taraneh discovers that she is pregnant and she makes the difficult decision to keep the baby, struggling to raise her child in a society that condemns her. Directed by Rasoul Sadrameli, Iran (2002).
