Davis Leonard '19 and Gianna Clark '19 present a devised adaptation of Apollinaire’s 1917 avant-garde investigation of gender, bodies, the state and the line between individual and collective political acts. A rollicking, exploding-in-glitter experiment in surrealist feminism. What is absolute about our bodies? What parts of our identities can be shed and reaffixed like garments? What, like balloons, can never quite be re-assembled once popped? Our dynamic ensemble and Apollinaire's ragtag collection of man-madames, place-debating duelists and dubious authority figures attempt to answer.
