Digital Public Fellow
Program in Modern Thought and Literature, Stanford University

Katja Schwaller is a fifth-year PhD student in Modern Thought and Literature. As a Colloquy editor at Arcade, her role is to build and strengthen collaborations with university presses, academic journals, and potential curators and authors.

In her academic work, she draws on media and technology studies, Marxist-feminist frameworks, and architectural, geographical, and cultural approaches to the built environment to examine how Silicon Valley technology companies imagine, appropriate, and reshape (sub)urban worlds and everyday life.

She has worked as a translator, written for a variety of publications, and edited a book on technology and urban struggles in the San Francisco Bay Area for Seismo/Assoziation A in Berlin.
