Please join the Bay Area Latinx Art and Activism Research Workshop for a lunchtime conversation with Jimena Sarno. After lunch, Sarno will be conducting a walk-through with graduating MFA students of their thesis exhibition. Sarno is an interdisciplinary artist and educator born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and based in Los Angeles. With a focus on the sensorial and affective experiences shaped by political subjecthood, she works across a range of media including installation, sound, moving image, text and sculpture. Currently, Jimena is a Lucas Artists Fellow at Montalvo Arts Center. She is also an assistant professor of studio art at CSU Dominguez Hills where she founded the artist-run space Office Hours.
