Please join us for an open session of ARCHLGY 126: Archaeobotany (ARCHLGY 226, BIO 186, BIO 286) taught by Dr. Yahui He. This class will feature special guest Dr. Wa Ye, who will demo traditional thigh spinning techniques with hemp. We will also experiment with applying this technique to spinning other cellulosic fibers, including sisal, flax, and cotton, as well as wool, a protein fiber.
The workshop is co-sponsored by the Archaeology Center and will be followed by a catered dinner for participants.
