Forming the U.S.—Canada and the U.S.: Mexico Border on Indigenous Land: A Conversation

This is an Archive of a Past Event

Please join us for our first workshop of the year. This event, featuring Benjamin Hoy (University of Saskatchewan) and Rachel St John (UC Davis) on the formation of the U.S./Canada and the U.S./Mexico borders. Both Benjamin and Rachel have written well acclaimed histories on the construction of these borders, and given their enduring relevance for understanding the nature of states, colonization, and territory, this event will provide an important frame to understand enduring importance of borders to understanding contemporary issues of sovereignty, territory, and property.
