Please join the Stanford Humanities Center Research Workshop Fiber Optics at the Stanford Archaeology Center (SAC) for a book talk by Kat Gutierrez (History, UCSC) on her first monograph Unmaking Botany: Science and Vernacular Knowledge in the Colonial Philippines.
Kat’s presentation will focus on the abacá / Manila “hemp” chapter of her book, which will be complemented by a curator introduction to the abacá / Manila “hemp” exhibit currently on display at SAC.
