Please join Fiber Optics, a new Stanford Humanities Center research workshop in honor of John Bender dedicated to building the field of critical fiber studies, welcomes Nicole Starosielski, Professor of Film and Media at UC Berkeley, for the workshop’s keynote event during its inaugural year. This event is co-sponsored with the Stanford Environmental and Climate History Workshop (SECH), the Digital Civil Society Lab (DCSL), and the Department of Film and Media Studies.
Professor Starosielski will be sharing with us a new project that involves tracking the supply chains for fiber-optic cables and considering issues around recycling and sustainability. A reception will follow.
