Dr. Duncan Yoon's (NYU Gallatin) monograph, China in 20th and 21st century African Literature, has just been released with Cambridge University Press, receiving the American Comparative Literature Association's (ACLA) Helen Tartar First Book Subvention Award. He is chair of the executive committee for the Modern Language Association's forum African Literature to 1990. Pedagogically, Dr. Yoon is interested in the intersections between digital technology and critical thought, and his research fields include Africa and China; postcolonialism; narrative theory; the Global South; the Cold War; diaspora; critical theory; digital humanities; and world literature.
