Hume Honors Fellow Becca De Los Santos is from Redding, California. Her research explores the ambiguities of French abolitionist legislation and how enslaved individuals exercised agency in nineteenth-century Senegal. After graduating from Stanford, she plans to pursue a PhD in History at Emory University.
