The series features prominent thinkers at the leading edge of humanities research.
Already an innovator in bringing the insights of the humanities to the public, the Stanford Humanities Center (SHC) is launching Whole Minds, a new podcast series that presents provocative thinkers who explore the world around us through ideas, arts, and culture.
Every year, the SHC hosts a wide range of scholars and practitioners—as fellows, speakers, or visitors—and the stimulating conversations among them. This new podcast brings listeners into the room.
Each episode features SHC Director Roland Greene in dialogue with a humanities scholar who is a leader in their field. Joining as co-host is a Stanford humanities PhD student—a different one each time—whose research overlaps with that of the guest in dynamic and productive ways.
The public is invited to listen in to the first episode with Mark Algee-Hewitt, Associate Professor of English at Stanford and Director of the Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis. New episodes will be released monthly.
